CDT has a world-class portfolio of intellectual property (IP) centred on light emitting diode technology.  We continue to research heavily, not only into device design, manufacturing processes needed to fabricate practical devices, but also into non-emissive materials, such as OSC and PV materials.

Our strong and growing collection of  basic patents has been extended through filing on improvements to extend our position and the lifetime of patent coverage.

Our joint venture with Sumitomo Chemical (Sumation^™) has access to the 'lumation' IP portfolio formerly controlled by Dow Chemical, and continues to develop new, patentable, materials for display and lighting applications.
