-- CAMBRIDGE, United Kingdom, October 3rd 2007 -- Cambridge Display Technology (CDT), a pioneer in the development of polymer light emitting diode (P-OLED) technology, today announced that CDT will receive a visit from Hiromasa Yonekura, President of Sumitomo Chemical, on Wednesday 3rd October 2007 to mark the closing of their merger deal which officially took place in New York on September, 19th.
David Fyfe, CEO and Jeremy Burroughes, CTO will accompany President Yonekura and his senior management team to the Cavendish Laboratory for a tour with Professor Sir Richard Friend to be followed by a tour of CDT's facilities in Cambridge and Godmanchester. Most importantly, they will have the opportunity to meet with group leaders and key scientists from both sites, including those working as part of Sumation, the CDT-Sumitomo Chemical joint venture. A signing ceremony is also planned to commemorate this significant moment in CDT's history.
The visit by President Yonekura is an indication of the strong commitment and importance Sumitomo Chemical places on the potential of CDT, Light Emitting Polymers, and the OLED industry.
