Technology Development Centre

CDT has invested heavily in the construction of a state of the art P-OLED Technology Development Centre (TDC).

High Precision Ink JetsIts mission:

  • To develop and demonstrate display fabrication processes that prove the excellence of P-OLED technology

The Technology Development Centre was set up to ensure that all the processes and materials under development can be implemented reliably and cost effectively in mass production. Though not at mass production scale, the plate size and throughput ensures that industrial feasibility of Man and Platematerials, devices and processes
can be proven.

The equipment is flexible enough to carry out a wide range of trials, either in process development of standard processes, or for large scale trial runs for licensee partners.

The facility can also run major process development projects for partners wishing to perform large scale industrial feasibility trials to validate investment decisions.

TDC's objectives are:

  • To develop manufacturing know-how for P-OLED displays
  • To make this knowledge and the rights to use it available to licensees
  • To co-design and manufacture prototypes for potential licensees and specialist customers
  • To validate materials and equipment in a production environment.

Our activities mirror those of a commercial production plant and incorporate the following stages:

  1. Photolithography
  2. Ink and device development
  3. Polymer deposition
  4. Cathode deposition and encapsulation
  5. Assembly and test
  6. Technology transfer
