CDT develops biosensor technologies for the fast growing market in healthcare diagnostics, agriculture and environmental sectors. Applications are driven by a need for distributed vs. centralised testing and faster turnaround of quantitative results.
- In portable ‘point of care’, devices are replacing lab based testing for a faster turnaround, lower cost and improved treatment decisions and patient outcomes.
- In precision agriculture, biosensors guide application of fertiliser and pesticide, and monitor plant diseases as they develop. They also monitor animal behaviour and health.
- In the environment, biosensors monitor toxic chemicals and other pathogens.
CDT’s biosensor solutions feature for example: disposable, single-use quantitative biosensor assay and integration with fluidic devices. A cost effective, printable multi-channel system can be produced for multiplexed assays.
